Inspections

PUWER Inspections

CE marking applies to equipment manufacturers.

Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) place similar duties on users of work equipment.

PUWER applies to all equipment used in the workplace old, new, secondhand, own built. The documentation requirements are not as onerous as for CE marking, but the technical safety aspects are the same. There is also an emphasis on the user’s need to provide management, maintenance, training and record keeping.

CCQS engineers can check that your work equipment is safe, but we can also check that your management systems meet the requirements of PUWER and MHSWR. We can help you devise efficient workplace equipment safety management systems.

Machinery Safety Inspections

It can be very useful to have an independent review of the safety of machinery in your workplace.

Sometimes even new machinery has poor safety provision, especially imported machinery. Safety measures can be damaged or disabled. The safety standards on old machines or home built or modified machines may not meet modern standards.

An inspection report from a competent CCQS engineer will alert you to any problems and show that you have exercised due diligence. Our engineers have much experience of safety problems and their solution and can often provide very useful advice about efficient and economic safety solutions.
